Angel Reese Traded By The Chicago Sky In Shock Deal

In recent years, the business of the WNBA is booming, and that was on full display when the league announced their newest CBA, seeing a well deserved major rise in pay for the players. There are many reasons for this, especially with the rise in support for women's sport, but it's hard to deny the impact of the 2024 WNBA Draft class, headlined by Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

The latter may receive plenty of criticism, but in two years for the Chicago Sky, she has been one of the most productive players in the entire league, averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds per game in that time. However, at the end of the 2025 season, there was talk about here future with the Sky, with reports that there was some friction between the two parties following another failed campaign.

Now, with the new season just over a month away, Reese has officially been traded by Chicago, with the Sky picking up two first-round picks from the Atlanta Dream in the blockbuster deal for the former No. 7 overall pick, along with a second-round pick swap.

Last season, the Dream were the No. 3 seed in the WNBA standings, and with the addition of Reese, who brings a presence down low for a team that's got Brittney Griner, it's a fantastic deal for Atlanta.

On paper, this is a deal that makes sense for both teams, as Reese now finds her new home while the Sky get significant assets in return, and in 2026, her return to Chicago will be a massive story for the league.
