Ex-Player Reveals Time LeBron Was There For Him When No One Else Was

In a post to his Instagram page, former NBA forward Mirza Teletovic explained how LeBron James was there for him when no one else was.

Raised in Bosnia during the 1990s wars, Teletovic grew up to be one of the best players in the country. The forward eventually ended up on Spain's Saski Baskonia, one of the top international teams in the world.

He signed with the Brooklyn Nets and soon became known for his three-point shooting and rebounding ability. After a few years in Milwaukee, the forward broke out with the Phoenix Suns. Over the 2015-2016 season, he played 21 minutes a game and averaged more than  12 points. He also averaged 3.8 rebounds per game and shot 39% from three.

This excellent season led to a three-year $30 million deal with Milwaukee. He didn't have the best first year with the Bucks, but was off to a good start the following year when disaster struck.

In 2017, it was revealed that he had pulmonary emboli in both of his lungs. The condition caused him to be waived by the Bucks, and Teletovic was out of a job.

He revealed:

"Few people know who King James the Gentleman is. After my pulmonary embolism, when no one wanted to sign me, he called my agent and offered me to play with him in Cleveland."

While James did try to help his fellow player out, it would not come to pass as Teletovic chose to retire. He would come back for one year in 2021 to play for KK Turbina.
