Milwaukee Bucks Players Reportedly Losing Faith In Doc Rivers As Head Coach
Apr 3, 2026
For years now, the Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the most consistent teams in the Eastern Conference, mainly on the back of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was the key piece of leading them to the NBA Championship back in 2021. However, the team have made some changes over the past few seasons, and after some disappointing NBA Playoffs runs, the 2025/26 campaign has been their worst in quite time some.
Not only have the team failed to make the post-season, but they've also all but seen the end of Antetokounmpo's run in Milwaukee, with the future of the organization up in the air moving forward. It's hard to pin all of this on one person, but clearly something has changed, and for many fans and analysts, that was the arrival of veteran Head Coach Doc Rivers, who has struggled to get any type of success out of this team since his arrival.
Now, a report from Brett Siegel has revealed that there are some within the Bucks organization that have lost faith in Rivers, with claims that the players don't believe in his style.
“Nothing has gone right for the Bucks in quite some time, and while Doc Rivers is certainly not to blame for all of the organization's flaws, his 95-99 record since taking over in Milwaukee is extremely underwhelming. Not to mention, multiple sources relayed that there is a lack of confidence among several Bucks players in Rivers' style of coaching.”
On paper, a 95-99 record with this team is simply unacceptable, and despite having success years ago, it's proof that Rivers simply isn't the effective coach that he potentially was years ago.

Ultimately, if the Bucks are to find some success moving forward, it may have to be without Rivers, and given the amount of changes that may be coming, it would be no shock to see if Rivers was part of that change.
