Steve Kerr Makes Statement About Shutting Down Wemby Before The Spurs Star Went Off

Steve Kerr has had immense success in his tenure as Head Coach of the Golden State Warriors, as he's become one of the top coaches in the entire NBA. Sure, he's had Steph Curry for the entirety of that tenure, but he's also influenced this team in a big way, and for the most part, the belief is that if it wasn't for Kerr, this team wouldn't be four-time NBA Champions during his tenure.

On Wednesday, the team came up against the San Antonio Spurs and superstar 22-year old Victor Wembanyama, and heading into the game, Kerr made it clear that the team had a plan to shut down the MVP candidate.

“Oh, we got it. We’re not gonna reveal it.”

Unfortunately for Kerr, whatever the game plan, things clearly didn't go according to plan, as the young Spurs star went off once again as the team came away victorious 127-113.

In the game, Wembanyama had 41 points, 18 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks, adding to his Defensive Player of the Year and MVP candidacy as he's once again shown why he has potential to be among the greatest of all-time if he can stay healthy.

Ultimately, it's unclear what Kerr's game plan to stop Wemby was, but clearly, like so many others early in the young French stars career, it didn't go according to plan, as he has once again proven why he's not only the future of the NBA, but the present as well.
