Stephen Curry Talks About Back-to-Back Against Timberwolves
Jan 26, 2026
The Golden State Warriors are in the middle of a back-to-back series in Minnesota against the Timberwolves. Their first game was postponed due to protests and the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis by a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
The Warriors and Timberwolves ended up playing the game the next day, and the Warriors won comfortably 111–85. While the Timberwolves have been slowly slipping lately, the game had a bizarre feel. It was apparent that the Wolves players' heads weren’t fully in the game, and the Warriors were able to take advantage.

Curry spoke after the game about how he wasn’t going to take too much from the win. He admitted that the game had a weird feeling from the start, and that the Warriors can’t go into their next game expecting a similarly uninspired Timberwolves squad.
Curry’s words after the win: “There's a lot of heavy hearts and a lot of things especially this Minneapolis community. Yesterday was rough. It's been rough I know out here, and I you can kind of feel it when we got here two days ago. The protests that were going on downtown... It was amazing to watch the turn out and peaceful protests and the unified voice that was here. And you feel like that what kind of turn the tide of you know to a more positive direction.”
Curry is always the optimist. Hopefully, he is right, and the tide is turning in a positive direction. Until then, he and the Warriors can only look forward. They have a tough rest of the season ahead, and while there are bigger things going on in the world, focusing on not letting their season slip away from them will be a potentially welcome distraction.
