Sacramento Kings Reportedly Receiving Many Calls On Rising Star

The Sacramento Kings have undergone immense change over the past few seasons, and despite plenty of promise, the team has seemingly taken a major step back in 2025–26. Through their first 21 games, the Kings have won just five games, and as a result, the front office has made it clear that they're looking to shake things up in a big way.

While it's yet to be confirmed just who the Kings are actively shopping, recent reports have speculated that almost everybody on this team beyond Keegan Murray will be available to be had via trade. Now, we know which player is drawing the most attention in Sacramento, as Marc Stein is now reporting that the Kings are getting plenty of calls on young, two-way guard Keon Ellis.

While it's been reported that Murray is the only true untouchable on this roster, given the energy and the effort that Ellis brings on both ends of the floor, he'd be a great building block for this team moving forward.

Through four years of his career, Ellis has averaged just 6 points, two rebounds, and one assist in 19 minutes per game, but on both ends of the floor, he often has a major impact on this team. Ultimately, if the Kings are looking to fully tear things down, Ellis could get them some solid assets for the future, and while moving him may be a mistake, if there's this much interest in him, he may be their best trade chip as of right now.
