Anthony Davis Has Surprise Pick For 2025/26 NBA MVP

The 2025/26 NBA regular season is almost over, and after some incredible play, the NBA Playoffs are set up to be one of the most exciting in years. For the most part, seeding in both the Eastern and Western Conference is settled, but obviously, with games still to play, award races could change in an instant.

One race that many feel is still not wrapped up is the MVP race, and while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a favorite for most fans and analysts, there's been some incredible performances outside of the Oklahoma City Thunder star. Beyond SGA, the likes of Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama have put in amazing efforts throughout the year, and according to Washington Wizards star Anthony Davis, it should be the latter that takes home the award.

During his appearance on the Draymond Green Show, AD ranked his top five MVP candidates, and in doing so, he chose the defensive minded center averaging 25 points and 12 rebounds a game as his favorite. However, what may be much more surprising is that he has SGA sitting in fourth place in his standings behind Wembanyama, Jokic and Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who carried the team in the absence of Jayson Tatum.

Ultimately, based on voters and the MVP race, it's highly likely that Gilgeous-Alexander is set to win his second straight MVP, but given the opinions we've seen from fellow players, it's not a guarantee just yet.
