Jaylen Brown Has Massive Praise For The Young Charlotte Hornets
Apr 9, 2026
Years ago, the Boston Celtics were a young, up-and-coming team led by the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and in 2025/26, they've already won one NBA Championship, with hopes of another this season. Unfortunately though, not every young team with a fantastic duo go on to have that type of success, because winning in the NBA at the highest level is one of the toughest things to do in sports.
One team that's hoping to build around their young core is the Charlotte Hornets, with Brandon Miller, LaMelo Ball and Rookie of the Year candidate Kon Knueppel leading the way. Recently, they took on the Celtics, and while the dominant Boston team won 113-102, Brown has nothing but praise for the future of the Hornets organization, paying them one major compliment for the future.
“This team kind of reminds me of us when we were younger.”
Sure, neither Knueppel or Ball may rise to the level of Brown or Tatum at their best, but given that the Hornets have three solid young pieces to build around, with a return to the play-in coming in 2025/26, it's easy to see why players around the league are keeping an eye on them.

Ultimately, this Hornets team has finally inspired some optimism after being one of the worst franchises in the entire NBA for a long, long time, and while they may never win an NBA Championship together, they're certainly trending in the right direction.
