Anthony Davis Opens Up On His Disappointment In How The Lakers Treated Him
Apr 9, 2026
The past two years have been rough for Anthony Davis, especially in the past 12 months, as he has been traded by big name NBA franchises not just once, but twice. The last move saw him dealt by the Dallas Mavericks to the Washington Wizards, and while that team is struggling, with the extra addition of Trae Young, there's a belief that they can make some noise if healthy in the next few years.
That wasn't the shocker though, that came when he was dealt by the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Luka Doncic, perhaps the most shocking trade in not only NBA, but sports history. Obviously, the shock still hasn't worn off for some, but on the latest episode of the Draymond Green Show, Davis addressed the deal, instead focusing on how upset he was with how the Lakers treated him throughout the process of the trade.
“I was there 6 years, we won a championship and I can’t even get a phone call or a text to tell me this is what you’re thinking?”
As we know, sports are a business, so while the trade was seemingly not the issue for Davis, it was the lack of communication from the Lakers front office that he took issue with.

Ultimately, the deal was an obvious one for the Lakers to make, and while they'd do it every single chance they get, it's easy to see why AD still isn't too happy with how things went down.
