Tyrese Haliburton Reveals Positive Update On His Return From Injury

Last season, the Indiana Pacers were right on the precipice of their first NBA Championship as a franchise, but unfortunately, they fell at the final hurdle against the loaded Oklahoma City Thunder squad. Perhaps things could have been different, but unfortunately, star point guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered an achilles injury in Game 7, one that was set to keep him out for the entirety of the 2025/26 regular season.

As a result, the Pacers have fallen all the way down in the standings, but with a potential top pick and Haliburton set to return in 2026/27, the belief is that this team can jump right back into being a contending team right away. However, that depends on Haliburton and his health, and while we don't know whether he'll be back to 100% or not, the talented young guard revealed a major update on his status on social media.

According to Haliburton, on Wednesday he played his first game of 5 on 5 since the injury, and while he's obviously not going to return this season due to the team being out of the playoff race, it bodes well for him getting back to 100% over the off-season.

Whether or not we see Haliburton back at the level he was at before the injury, only time will tell, but given the level of modern medicine and how well we've seen Jayson Tatum recover, there's optimism in Indiana that he'll be back to 100% before next year.
