Russell Westbrooks Names Himself As The Best Rebounding Guard in NBA History
Nov 6, 2025
Russell Westbrook is already the NBA's triple-double king, and on Wednesday, he recorded his first for the Sacramento Kings, tallying 23-16-10 in the Kings upset win over the Golden State Warriors. That was the 204th triple-double in the career of Westbrook, extending his lead over Oscar Robertson to 23, and while he received plenty of disrespect in free agency over the summer, he's once again proving just how good he is.
After the game, he addressed his standing in the history of the NBA, and while he's already the NBA's all-time triple-double leader, he humbly proclaimed that he has another title.
“Humbly speaking, I’m the best rebounding guard ever.”
With the 16 rebounds in the victory over Golden State, Westbrook has now surpassed Jason Kidd as the NBA's all-time leading rebounder for point guards, as he now stands alone at the top with 8,734, as he continues to make impressive NBA history. This comes after he surpassed Robertson, Kobe Bryant and other greats of the game in years gone by, and at this point, there's simply no disputing Westbrook's claim, as he's proven year after year that he's been absolutely dominant on the glass.

It's unclear how Westbrook will be remembered by the generations to come, but for those that watched him in his prime, there's no denying that he's an all-time great, and with the records continuing to pile up, he may go down as one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game.
