Report Connects Two High End Stars To Lakers in 2027

A recent report from Sam Quinn connected both Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Lakers once they become free agents in 2027 or potentially earlier.

The Los Angeles Lakers have lots of fans. The team is among the most successful in NBA history and has featured countless iconic stars.
The Los Angeles Lakers also have a lot of haters. That comes naturally to a team whose other team's stars are always connected too. And a recent report from Sam Quinn connected two more of these stars in the future.
As Quinn discussed how the Lakers could build around Luka Doncic in the future, he noted:
"For the time being, both Nikola Jokić and Giannis Antetokounmpo are set to become free agents in 2027. They are banking on someone, whether it’s Antetokounmpo, Jokić or someone we aren’t expecting, to become unhappy somewhere else. The cap space is their leverage, their way of saying ‘you can give us your star or we can take him.'"
Giannis Antetokounmpo might be a real target for the Lakers in the coming years. The Greek Freak is currently ok with staying in Milwaukee, but there have been plenty of rumors about him wanting to go to a bigger market for a championship-level team, and the Lakers would fit that bill.
Jokic is kind of a different story. The multi-time MVP has made his home in Denver and has never really looked to play anywhere else. It would probably be more likely that he retires at an early age than he leaves for another team.
