Steve Kerr Gives a Stephen Curry Injury Update After Scrimmage

The Golden State Warriors desperately need Stephen Curry back. They are currently the 10th seed in the Western Conference, and while they don’t have any risk of falling below 10th and of the Play-In Tournament, they still have the opportunity to improve their positioning. Curry has missed the Warriors’ last 25 games. The Warriors haven’t necessarily free fallen in his absence, but their record of 9-16 isn’t very promising.

More importantly, if the Warriors don’t have Curry for the Play-In Tournament in a few weeks, they will almost assuredly miss the playoffs altogether.

The good news is that Curry is gearing up to return. Curry recently scrimmaged with the team and this was what Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr had to say about Curry’s injury status.

“Today was a good day, you know, watching Steph scrimmage after our practice. We had a very light practice, but yeah, he got out on the floor and played 5-on-5 and looked good. So, we’ll take it day by day and see how he’s feeling tomorrow, but all in all, a really positive day…It’s one good day, and a lot has led up to this, but the next few days are really, really important.”

It sounds like the Warriors are going to time Curry’s return perfectly. Since they can’t fall below 10th, there’s not a huge incentive to bring him back early. That being said, having his first game back be in the Play-In Tournament also doesn’t serve them. So, expect Curry to return to the court with a couple games to get his feet under him, so he can be fully healthy and unleashed in the Play-In Tournament.
