New Report Reveals The One Player the Miami Heat Weren't Willing to Part Ways With to Land Giannis Antetokounmpo
Oct 8, 2025
On Tuesday, blockbuster reports emerged out of Milwaukee that Giannis Antetokounmpo's future was up in the air, with the Bucks superstar eyeing New York as a potential trade destination. While the Bucks and Knicks were unable to come to terms on a trade, that doesn't mean that this story is over, with teams eyeing the summer of 2026 as the chance to land the two-time MVP.
One of the teams that has always been interested in landing him is the Miami Heat, but in the past few years, they've been a team interested in plenty of top stars without being able to land one. However, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, they're preparing to put forward an offer, but one that doesn't involve Bam Adebayo.
That means that they are clearly eyeing up a frontcourt duo of Adebayo and Antetokounmpo, but without some massive assets to get the job done, it's unclear if they can put together an offer to land him. On top of Miami, there will be renewed interest from the Knicks, as well as other teams around the league. However, without Adebayo, it's unclear if the Heat can get the job done.

Ultimately, the duo of Adebayo and Antetokounmpo would be an incredible one for the Heat. Whether or not they ever get to make the offer that doesn't involve their star big man, we'll have to wait until next summer or potentially the trade deadline to find out.
