Chris Paul Reveals Which Clippers Player Has Impressed Him the Most
Oct 7, 2025
The Los Angeles Clippers are going to be one of the oldest NBA teams in recent history. Their core of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard is already quite old, but then they went out this offseason and made a bunch of moves to get even older and more experienced.
One of those signings is former Clippers point guard Chris Paul. Paul is entering the season at 40 years old, entering his 21st NBA season. Chris Paul spoke with reporters about who has stood out to him during the Clippers’ training camp. Here is what he said:
“I’m playing with a brand new group of guys. Everybody. Brook Lopez. He’s been in the league now 18 years. Competed against him for a long time, and now to get a chance to play alongside him has been pretty dope.”

Both Paul and Lopez have been competing at a high level in the NBA for a long time. While Lopez spent much of his career in the Eastern Conference and Paul spent most of his in the West, they always had the opportunity to appreciate each other from afar—except when they faced off in the 2021 NBA Finals.
Now, Paul is seeing what it’s like having Lopez on his team and is pleasantly surprised.
While Paul might not be a huge factor for the Clippers this upcoming season, Lopez likely will be. At the backup center position behind Ivica Zubac, Lopez is the best backup big man in the league. He would start on most teams. That’s why it’s no surprise that Paul is singing his praises.
