Why Moses Moody May Be the Warriors' Most Important Player Next Season
Oct 8, 2025
The Golden State Warriors have built themselves a veteran team that is going to try and contend for an NBA championship in the extremely talented Western Conference. Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green will lead the team as they did last year, but the Warriors also picked up some more veterans to help in free agency.
Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, and Seth Curry will bring years of NBA leadership and experience to the Warriors roster. However, those aren’t the guys who will help bring this Warriors team to new heights.
The Warriors’ younger players will be the ones who make the difference this season. While all eyes will be on Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody is the one who could make or break the Warriors' season.

Moody has been slowly improving year after year. His games played, minutes, points, assists, and steals have improved in each of his first four seasons in the league. Last year, he averaged 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Those might not be the numbers you’d expect for someone being labeled as the most important player on the team. However, Moody has proven that he has the ability to help the Warriors reach new heights. When Moody was in the starting lineup last season, the Warriors were 27–7. Expand that record to an entire season, and the Warriors would be one of the best teams in the league.
Moody will probably start again next year. His shooting and defensive abilities are exactly what is needed to make lineups with Curry, Butler, and Green work.
If he can stay healthy and continue his trajectory of constant improvement, he will be the reason the Warriors reach new heights next year.
