NBA GM Survey: Stephen Curry is Top Answer for Four Different Questions

The annual NBA GM survey just got released, and the answers, as always, are quite interesting. The GM survey polls the General Managers around the NBA, asking them a series of questions about the current state of the league — everything from who is the best player in the NBA to who they would want to build their team around if starting from scratch today. The answers are a great way to see exactly what some of the smartest minds in basketball are thinking about.

Stephen Curry has been a hot answer for years in the NBA GM survey. Of course, he was voted best point guard in the league for many years (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won this year), but he has also had moments of “best player in the NBA right now.”

While Curry may no longer be at the peak of his powers, that doesn’t mean his name didn’t come up a bunch in the 2025-26 season’s NBA GM survey.

Unsurprisingly, he was named the league’s best pure shooter with 93% of the votes. His former teammate, Klay Thompson, was the only other player to receive votes, with 7%.

He also won “Best at moving without the ball” by a landslide with 90% of the votes.

Neither of those should come as a surprise. Curry may be 37 years old, but he still does what he does better than anyone else.

The less obvious questions that Curry was the top answer for were the NBA’s best leader and who GMs would most want taking the shot with the game on the line. Curry was the top vote-getter for those questions last season as well.

All in all, it is clear that while Curry might no longer be the best player in the NBA, he is still extremely valued around the league as one of the greatest to still be doing it.
