New York Knicks Make Jalen Brunson Officially Untouchable In Giannis Trade Talks
Oct 10, 2025
In recent days, the biggest story around the NBA has been the future of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who appears set to depart the team in the next 18 months. The most logical landing spot for him is the New York Knicks, with several reports indicating that the two sides discussed a deal this summer but were unable to reach an agreement.
That's led many fans and analysts to put together trade packages that would see Giannis land in the Big Apple, but to this point, none make total sense for both teams. Some of them even include Jalen Brunson, but now Sam Amick has confirmed, unsurprisingly, that the Knicks captain has been made untouchable in trade talks.
"Team sources have made it clear that Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson was, as expected, untouchable in these talks. In terms of possible players being involved, the common sense lens turns toward Towns, OG Anunoby, and Mitchell Robinson from there."
On paper, the combination of Brunson/Antetokounmpo makes the Knicks the most dangerous team in the East, but, of course, their potential success depends on who would remain around this duo in New York.

Ultimately, Brunson has blossomed into one of the NBA's best players in New York, and given how beloved he is by the fanbase and what he's done for the entire city, it makes sense that the Knicks don't want to trade him, and likely won't do so for any player in the NBA today.
