New Orleans Pelicans Set To Accept 'First Reasonable Offer' For Top Star Per NBA Insider

Back in 2019, Zion Williamson was seen as a can't-miss prospect, and with the New Orleans Pelicans winning the draft lottery, many believed he was headed to be the face of the NBA. However, six years later, Williamson has struggled to stay healthy, and as a result, he's simply become another player in the NBA, failing to stand out in any meaningful way.

During his tenure in the NBA, Williamson has appeared in 61 or fewer games in five of his six seasons, and with a recent injury, the Pelicans are clearly getting frustrated. Reportedly, Williamson is set to miss several weeks of action, and according to reports, things are reaching a boiling point.

In a recent report, Brett Siegel revealed that the Pelicans are set to accept the first 'reasonable, decent' offer that is given for the former No. 1 overall pick.

When healthy, Zion can still be a difference-maker, as he has averaged 25 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game, meaning that there's a chance teams out there could take the opportunity to bring him in. That obviously comes with major risk, however, and given his current injury status, teams may be scared off from pursuing the talented 25-year-old.

Time is still on Zion's side, as he has the potential to be an All-Star if he can stay healthy, and with a change of scenery, that could happen, but for now, tensions are continuing to rise between Williamson and the Pelicans.
