NBA Insider Reveals Kawhi Leonard's Shocking Trade Value
Dec 5, 2025
Kawhi Leonard's time in Los Angeles began with plenty of hype, especially after winning the 2019 NBA Championship before signing a free agency deal with the Clippers. Unfortunately, his time in LA has been nothing short of a failure, with the star forward struggling to stay on the floor, and when he has been healthy, the team just hasn't managed any substantial success.
This season, that drama was taken to a whole new level after reports surfaced that Leonard's contract was potentially questionable, with third-party deals involving Steve Ballmer raising questions.
On the floor, he's done nothing to win back goodwill, as he has appeared in just 12 of the team's 22 games thus far, and with the team sitting at 6–16, there's very little to be positive about. That goes for Leonard's trade value, too, as ESPN's Brian Windhorst has now revealed that, around the league, the former Finals MVP has a “negative trade value”.
As of right now, it's not likely that the team is actively seeking to trade their superstar and the face of the franchise, but as the struggles continue, it's potentially something that they may need to consider moving forward.

Ultimately, though, the team extended Leonard despite his inability to stay healthy and his lack of success with the team, so even if they continue to get worse, as of right now, it's unlikely that they'll ever try to move on from him.
