Karl-Anthony Towns Addresses His Long-Term Future With The New York Knicks
Dec 4, 2025
Before last season, Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to the New York Knicks, with the team looking to take the final step towards the NBA Finals. While they reached the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks couldn't overcome the Indiana Pacers, with the team making yet another change this summer by adding Mike Brown as their head coach.
Despite great numbers in his first season, Towns was met with plenty of criticism on the defensive end following the NBA Playoffs, something many hoped he would fix this season. Through the team's first 21 games this year, they sit at 14–7, but those question marks over Towns remain, and with Giannis Antetokounmpo requesting a trade, many in New York believe that he could be a piece to acquire the two-time MVP.
However, KAT recently addressed his future in New York, revealing how much he loves it and how he wants to stay moving forward.
"Hell yeah, I want to stay here. Obviously, get a chance to play at home, get to see my family… It means more than the money, you know? So just being able to be here, be with the fans, be with my family, means a lot.
I would like it to continue.”
That doesn't appear to be a player that's ready to be shipped out in a deal for Giannis, and we know this team can roll when they're fully healthy, but for now, this is a situation to continue to keep a very close eye on in the coming weeks.
