ESPN Trade Idea Sends Giannis To Elite Western Conference Contender

The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors are really starting to pick up. As multiple reports are claiming that the Milwaukee Bucks star could finally be ready to change teams, everyone in the league is trying to figure out if they have what it takes to land the biggest star on the trade market.

ESPN recently proposed multiple fake Giannis trades that could become reality over the next few weeks.

“Houston Rockets get:

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Bucks get:

Alperen Sengun

Fred VanVleet

With a 13–5 record, the No. 2 offense and the No. 3 defense in the league, the Rockets might not want to upset the apple cart. But if they could upgrade from Sengun to Antetokounmpo, they would have to at least consider it, given their chance to knock off the Oklahoma City Thunder and win a title this season and next.”

Getting Giannis onto your roster should be a no-brainer. The Rockets' situation, however, is unique.

For one, the Rockets already made a bold trade to add a veteran to their young core. So far, that has been working out super well. Kevin Durant seems to be fitting into the Rockets' system and helping their young guys reach their maximum potential.

Still, do the Rockets want to mess with what they have going? Losing Alperen Sengun, even if it is for a player like Giannis, is a huge risk. Sengun is having a career year. He is averaging 23.1 points (career-high), 9.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists (career-high). He is still the focal point of the Rockets' elite offense.

This one is a toss-up. Yes, replacing Sengun with Giannis does probably raise the Rockets' ceiling. However, with Sengun’s age and talent, he may just be too good to give away.
