Draymond Green Shares Nice Story About Son and Rival Player

The amount of access a player's family gets can vary by team, but the Golden State Warriors have always tried to be one of the most family-friendly franchises. This means that families can join the team plane or even sit near the bench during games.

This is what happened this week when Draymond Green’s son got to sit on the Warriors bench during the team’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For one, Green said this kept him on his best behavior. Usually one of the louder and more demonstrative players in the league, Green said, “It keeps me in check. I know he’s watching,” when talking about what it’s like having his son nearby during a game.

Green also told NBC Sports Bay Area about a cool interaction he had with a rival Thunder player because of his son.

"He came up to me after the game like, 'Can you introduce me to Chet Holmgren?' So I went and introduced him to Chet, and Chet was nice. So I really appreciate that. Anytime you give them those experiences that quite honestly money can't buy, I'm always forever grateful."

It’s always awesome when a young NBA fan gets to meet one of their favorite players. When that player is a rival of your dad? Even cooler. The fact that Chet took the time to say some kind words to Draymond’s son is really cool as well.

On top of that, it is awesome to see the soft side and family man side of Draymond Green. All in all, this is the type of wholesome NBA story that we need more of.
