Doc Rivers Refutes Reports That Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Requested A Trade

On Wednesday, it appears as though Giannis Antetokounmpo made his future clear with the Milwaukee Bucks, as several reports revealed that he officially requested a trade from his longtime home. That has led to plenty of teams around the NBA being linked to the two-time MVP, with teams from San Antonio to the New York Knicks and many in between all listed as potential landing spots.

However, Head Coach Doc Rivers doesn't believe that Giannis wants to leave at all, as he addressed those reports recently, revealing that Antetokounmpo hasn't even asked for a trade.

"Giannis has never asked to be traded. Ever. I can't make that any clearer. I go to the source. I talk to the source every single day... He loves Milwaukee, and he loves the Bucks."

This comment from Rivers goes against almost every NBA Insider, who confirm that after 18 months of speculation, Giannis wants out of Milwaukee. Reportedly, Giannis became frustrated with the way the Damian Lillard situation was handled, and with the team going 10–13 through their first 23 games, it appears his frustration has reached a boiling point.

On top of all of this, Antetokounmpo also suffered a calf injury in the team's latest game, with the Bucks seemingly holding the future of the NBA in their hands. For now, all signs continue to point to the two-time MVP wanting out of Milwaukee, and if they can get a major haul for him, it appears as though a trade could come to fruition in the near future.
