Lonzo Ball Reveals His Limitations Ahead of the 2025/26 NBA Season
Oct 7, 2025
After several years out of the NBA, Lonzo Ball returned in 2024–25, playing in 35 games with the Chicago Bulls during that time. While he didn't thrive and look like his old self, he certainly got back into the swing of things, and after landing in Cleveland this offseason, there's optimism that he can get back to his best moving forward.
Behind Darius Garland, Ball will be a key piece for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were the No. 1-ranked team in the Eastern Conference last season. Despite his improving health, however, he's clearly not back to 100%, and before the season, he has revealed the playing limitations he'll be under to start the year.
According to Ball, he'll likely play around 20 minutes a night, with back-to-back games reportedly “off the table” as he looks to recover from the brutal injury history surrounding his knee. With the depth that Cleveland has, however, he's the perfect option for them off the bench, as he provides solid play at both ends of the floor, and if he can grow into the season and recover from his injury, this may be one of the pickups of the offseason.

At 27 years of age, if Ball can get back to full health at some point in his career, he's got plenty of time left to be a very productive player, and with these limitations, the Cavaliers are hoping that he's close to 100% by postseason time when they chase an NBA title.
