LeBron James Opens Up On The Advice He'd Give His 18-Year Old Self

LeBron James is nearing the end of his career, and after such a lengthy stint in the NBA, he's widely regarded as either the best or the second-best player to ever pick up a basketball. Recently, he turned 41 and continues to play in the league at a high level, averaging 21 points, five rebounds, and seven assists in what is his 23rd season in the league.

That's an accomplishment that may never be matched, as James has had incredible consistency throughout his lengthy career, one that many believe is coming to an end either this summer or next. Now, he's been asked by a reporter to take a look back at his career and to reveal what advice he would give his 18-year-old self entering the NBA out of high school, with James keeping it short and simple.

“Enjoy the ride. Because you never know when it comes to an end… It goes fast.”

Despite playing in more seasons than anyone in league history, James reveals how quickly things go by, urging his younger self to just enjoy the ride, something he's clearly done in his time with Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles.

At the end of the day, we'll never see someone come into the NBA out of high school with the hype that James had back in 2003, and given what he's been able to accomplish throughout his time in the NBA, the hope is that he enjoyed every second of that ride.
