Nico Harrison Reportedly Gave Anthony Davis A Massive Privilege That He Didn't Afford Luke Doncic

Last season, Nico Harrison made perhaps the most shocking, controversial, and downright ridiculous trade in NBA history, robbing Dallas Mavericks fans of an all-time great and the face of their franchise. After a year of hatred and vitriol from Mavericks fans, the team parted ways with their general manager recently, opening up what may be a new era in the history of the organization.

Reports since then have revealed just how poor his basketball evaluation skills have been, as he seemingly placed Jrue Holiday and Nikola Jokic in the same tier of talent in an internal report. Now, the confusing reports continue, as Tim MacMahon is now reporting that he allowed Anthony Davis' medical staff to be hired by the Mavericks, a privilege that he didn't even afford to franchise star Doncic while he was with the team.

It's unclear exactly why Harrison allowed this after the debacle with Doncic, but it's another confusing report from a once-promising tenure that came crashing back down to earth over the past 12 months. While there was plenty of good in Harrison's time with Dallas, there were also plenty of confusing, shocking things that didn't need to be done, with this report at the very top of that list.

Ultimately, it was a long time coming for the Mavericks to move on from Harrison, and this latest report adds more confusion to his tenure, but with a potential rebuild around Cooper Flagg coming, it's clear that firing Harrison was the best move for the team.
