Steve Kerr Commends Draymond for Calling Out Team After Losing Streak

After a terrible loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder this week, the Golden State Warriors seemed to be in semi-crisis mode. Both Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green seemed to take shots at the team through the media, and people were starting to wonder if things were starting to become unstable in Golden State.

While some worried about how Draymond’s comments were going to be received, Warriors coach Steve Kerr spoke on the Willard and Dibs show about his thoughts on Draymond’s methods.

"Draymond is our emotional and spiritual leader. When he says stuff like that, it's good for us...Draymond always has his finger on the pulse of what's going on with the team. He can be dramatic in the way he expresses it, like he was the other night, but it's good for us. He needed to put our team on edge.

It wasn't just a few comments to the media. Draymond has addressed the group a couple of times over the last week, so we're already on this, and Draymond is on it.

If he says it to the media, there's method to his madness. He knows the rest of the guys are going to see it, and he wants them to see it."

Kerr is almost always backing up Draymond publicly. It’s probably part of what has made their relationship work so well over the last few years.

Draymond’s processes aren’t always respected or understood, but they do have a good track record of working. When you’ve won four championships and are on your way to the Hall of Fame, you get a certain level of understanding and respect.
