Ja Morant Set To Miss Two Weeks After Latest Injury Setback
Nov 18, 2025
The 2025–26 NBA season has been a strange one for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, as the relationship between the two appears to be souring more and more as time goes by. With the team going 4–10 through their first 14 games, many expect the former No. 2 overall pick to ask out of Memphis soon, but as of right now, he appears to be remaining loyal, despite the strained relationship, especially with his head coach.
While that may still come to fruition, the team now has another issue to deal with, as Morant is set to spend the next two weeks on the sidelines after suffering an injury.
According to Shams Charania, Morant will miss the next two weeks as a result of a Grade 1 calf strain, with the team set to re-evaluate him after that time, as there's a chance he could miss even more time. Even with Morant in the lineup this season, averaging 18, four, and eight in that time, Memphis has been nowhere near their best, and with their core underperforming, there's a chance that the front office may look to shake things up.

This season is a tough one for Memphis and Morant, and this injury only further complicates things moving forward. While there's still a good chance the team and player look to mutually part ways, they'll need to wait at least two weeks until he gets back on the floor to make that happen.
