Kevin Durant Takes to Social Media to Respond to Scorer Argument
Aug 20, 2025
Kevin Durant took to social media over the weekend to respond to claims that his efficiency didn't make him the greatest scorer ever.

Durant has been in the league for a long time and has been climbing up many important league lists. He currently sits at 8th all-time in points scored and with a healthy season could make it to 6th or even 5th on the list.
Not only has Durant been continuously dominant, but he has also made it look easy. He ranks 15th all-time in true shooting percentage, but the players above him on the list are largely centers how take short-range shots. Durant takes a large diet of difficult outside shots.
During a recent argument about the greatest scorer of all time, a Twitter user named Lukas pointed out thst Durant hadn't led his team in field goal attempts for several seasons.
A different user argued that efficiency isn't everything and and that the Houston Rockets would be better off taking more shots. Durant, never one to shy away from social media beef, responded to the message:
"30k points on low fga. Ima coaches dream. Dime dropper, I mastered scoring at 24 years old man. Give it a rest, I don’t care about being the best scorer ever. You are diminishing my all time greatness callin me that."
Durant is not only still efficient, he doesn't look anywhere close to done. Traded to Houston this offseason, the forward averaged 26.6 points per game on 52.7% shooting and 43% from three point range.
