Jalen Williams Gives Arrogant Answer When Asked About OKC's Recent Struggles
Jan 9, 2026
The Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the 2024–25 NBA season, and at the end of it all, they stood tall as they won their first NBA Championship in franchise history. This season, they took their game to another level entirely, with the team starting their campaign on a ridiculous run, posting a 24–1 record through their first 25 games played.
However, since that point, they've gone just 7–6 as they now sit at 31–7 on the season, with many people around the league fearing for them despite having them in conversation with the 73–6 Golden State Warriors just a few weeks ago. That was something that Jalen Williams was recently asked about, and now, he's been called out on social media for the arrogant answer he gave about the team's recent struggles.
"This is going to sound cocky, but the last 3 years we won so much that when we have a normal human stretch of losing a game or two that we shouldn't have, the world freaks out."
Whether it's cocky, arrogant, or simply confident is up for fans to decide, but one thing is for sure, and that is that the Thunder aren't going to panic, as they still sit atop the Western Conference with an impressive 31–7 record.

Ultimately, this team is still likely the favorite to go back-to-back this season and be the first team to do so since the Warriors in 2016 and 2017, and this confidence from Williams shows that they aren't going to let a little struggle affect them too much.
