Draymond Green Reveals Thoughts on Recent Beef with Kenyon Martin
Dec 9, 2025
Draymond Green may not be as dominant as he used to be, but he is still one of the best villains in the NBA. Part of what makes Green such a polarizing player is that it is hard to pinpoint just how good he is. For one, he is one of the greatest defenders of all time. However, he has also played on teams with some of the best teammates anyone could ask for.
The combination of Green’s propensity for smack talk and his unclear placement amongst the greats in NBA history causes much debate. Recently, Green and former NBA All-Star Kenyon Martin went back and forth through the media, debating exactly how good Green really is.

Martin listed 50 power forwards that he believed were better than Draymond.
Here was Draymond’s response: “I thought it was funny. I didn’t actually hear all the names; I just read some of them because I don’t really watch what people say. So I just read some of the names that he said, and I thought it was cute. I thought it was real cute. I thought, you know, that’s cool. I found it interesting that a lot of people said he didn’t put himself on the list. But you know, I found it… You know, some of those names that I read were just interesting. Made it come off as a bit emotional, if you ask me. But nonetheless, shout out to all 50 of those guys on having a hell of an NBA career and doing what they did, and putting their name in the bucket. I respect all of them. It’s all love. Good for them. I’m not going to shoot none of those guys, because you know, other people get a little emotional — I ain’t going to shoot them down. They didn’t do it. They weren’t the ones emotional. So, shout out to them. And shout out to him. You know, it’s all good. It is what it is. Say what you’re going to say. I don’t mind. You know me — how I roll. I speak when I want to speak. And the conversation goes as I go. And the conversation don’t go if I don’t go. And that’s just how it goes.”
In a way, Draymond took the high road on this one. He didn’t start any new beefs by calling out some of the more ridiculous players on the list. In the end, Draymond has the championships and All-Star nods to shove in Martin’s face. It is going to be hard to win that argument.
