Controversial All-Star Replacement For Giannis Antetokounmpo Revealed

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is fast approaching, and while there's been very little excitement around the event in recent years, the hope is that things can be turned around in 2026. However, there were some fans calling out the major lack of star power on the bench, and now, we've seen several players already ruled out of the weekends festivities.

Already, Steph Curry and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have been ruled out, and now, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has also been announced to be missing the game due to injury. According to Shams Charania, DeAaron Fox of the San Antonio Spurs has been selected to replace the Bucks two-time MVP, as he has become a key part of his team and their success in getting to the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference standings.

This season, Fox is averaging 19 points and 6 assists for the Spurs, and while he's put together a great season, it's hard to see him as an All-Star. Instead, many are pointing to the season of Austin Reaves as worthy of the nod instead, as the Lakers star averaged 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, but instead, it was Fox that was given the honor of being an All-Star.

Ultimately though, it will now be Fox as the second member of the Spurs team heading to All-Star weekend, and while he wasn't the fans pick for the event, it's easy to see why he's getting this opportunity.
