Utah Jazz Star Set To Miss The Remainder Of The Season

Jaren Jackson Jr. entered the 2025/26 season looking to chase the NBA Playoffs with the Memphis Grizzlies, but in just a few months, everything has changed. The year began with drama surrounding Ja Morant and the team, and with their struggles on the floor, they once again became sellers.

Many expected them to deal Morant, but instead, they landed a haul of future assets for Jackson Jr., who was shockingly dealt to the Utah Jazz. In three games with Utah, JJJ averaged 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game, representing an intriguing combination with Walker Kessler in their front court.

Unfortunately, he's now sustained a left knee injury, and while he potentially could have played through it, to ensure his long-term health, this was likely the best move for the player and the organization.

Currently, Jackson Jr. has three years left on his deal, with a player option for the 2030/31 campaign, and given this knowledge, it's clear that the Jazz want him to be a part of their long-term future. While it's a tough blow for Jackson, it's a good move for the Jazz, who have recently been fined for tanking, with the team clearly looking to get the best possible draft pick for the loaded 2026 NBA Draft.

Ultimately, JJJ has now become a key piece of Utah's future, and if he comes back in 2026/27 healthier and better than ever, this will be a team to watch out for, even in the loaded Western Conference.
