Stephen Curry is Gearing Up For a Daunting Playoff Push

Can the Golden State Warriors actually make some noise this postseason? After Jimmy Butler’s season-ending ACL tear, nobody is expecting it. In fact, the Warriors are likely going to have to fight their way out of the Play-In Tournament to even get a chance at a playoff push.

Still, that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to try. The Warriors consider themselves threats at all times, as long as Stephen Curry is healthy. And when healthy, Curry is still one of the five or so best players in the league.

Warriors’ insider Nick Friedell recently reported that he believes Curry still has hope for this season despite the injuries the Warriors have faced.

“And the thing that makes me interested in this last stretch of game is Steph is well aware that everybody’s written them off. That’s one of the most competitive dudes I’ve ever seen. He knows that everybody’s sitting there going, ‘I can’t make anything happen this year.’ Again. That doesn’t mean they’re going to go make some insane run to the finals. What that does mean is he’s gearing himself up to make that push in the playoffs, because we all agree he doesn’t have that many left.”

A motivated Curry is a scary thing. We’ve seen him carry sorry rosters to incredible heights in the past. Could this season be another one of those times?

While it sounds good, the Western Conference is as deep as ever, and the competition is going to be very stiff. Even if the Warriors make it out of the play-in tournament, the chances that they can win more than one playoff series are very low. That being said, we’ve seen Curry make magic out of nothing before; maybe he will do it again.
