Charlotte Hornets Rookie Makes History Following Red-Hot Start

The Charlotte Hornets have been drafting high for a number of years now, but beyond LaMelo Ball, they're yet to find someone they could make a centerpiece of the future. Brandon Miller hasn't yet shown flashes of being a star, and other names have come up short of expectations, until 2025, that is.

With the No. 4 overall draft pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the team selected Duke wing Kon Knueppel, and this time around, the selection was highly criticized around the league. However, he's already showing that he can be a star, and now, he's made NBA history, becoming the quickest player in league history to hit 100 three-pointers made.

This comes just a few weeks after some analysts declared that Knueppel may be the biggest threat to Steph Curry's all-time three-point record, as he has clearly stepped in and made a massive impact already.

The previous record to hit 100 threes was set by Lauri Markkanen, who took 41 games to get there, and with 12 games in hand of that record, Knueppel is truly showing that he can be the face of the Hornets franchise for positive reasons.

Obviously, there's a long way to go before Knueppel becomes one of the best three-point shooters in the league, but given how hot he's been through the first 29 games of his career, if he can continue this consistency, he'll no doubt be a star for a long time to come.
