Anthony Davis Set To Be Evaluated In Six Weeks; Will Not Need Surgery

Anthony Davis has been one of the most injury prone players in the entire NBA since arriving, and throughout his career, those injuries have seemingly come at the worst possible time. This season, it has been no different, with AD spending much of his time with the Dallas Mavericks injured, as fans have become accustomed too following his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, the latest injury comes at a time when the team are shopping him, but following the injury, there was speculation he may need surgery and could miss the rest of the season. Now, ESPN Insider Shams Charania has confirmed that is not the case, and that AD will be re-evaluated in six weeks, but will not need surgery on his hand injury.

Shams would then update his report, revealing that the Mavericks have been shopping Davis more aggressively as of late, and given that this isn't going to be a season ending injury, it's likely still that he'll get dealt ahead of the trade deadline.

Trading for Davis has always come with risk, but given how injury prone he's been in just a season with the Mavericks, other teams may be weighing up that risk in the coming weeks now as he looks to recover from his injury.

When healthy, Davis is still a game changer that can anchor an NBA Championship winning roster, but given the injuries, the belief around the NBA appears to be fading for his ability to stay healthy.
