Toronto Raptors Could Target Ja Morant As A Result Of Internal Pressure To Win

The Toronto Raptors have built a lineup full of young, exciting talent this season, and after a start of 24-16, there's plenty of hope for the year moving forward. In the Eastern Conference standings, the Raptors currently sit in fourth place, and with a core built around Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett and Scottie Barnes, it's easy to see why fans are excited.

It's not just the fans however, as it has been reported that there is a major internal pressure to win given this red-hot start to the season. As a result of that, Marc Stein is now reporting that they could go after Ja Morant on the trade market to give them an established star at the point guard position to lead this young core into the post-season.

With a trade package that could be centered around Immanuel Quickley and future picks, the Raptors could put together a rather compelling offer to Memphis, and in landing Morant, it could make them a top contender in the Eastern Conference.

On paper, Morant would be a great fit for this team, but given some of the question marks surrounding the former No. 2 overall draft picks off the court, it could also be a major risk. Ultimately, there's going to be competition for Morant, as he's a player drawing significant interest around the league, but given the internal pressure for this group to go all in, adding him to their young, athletic core could make them a genuine contender in the East.
