Jaylen Brown Voices Frustration With Officials After Recent Loss
Jan 12, 2026
The Boston Celtics are having one hell of a season. When Jayson Tatum was ruled out for most of the 2025–26 season, nobody expected much out of the Celtics. Some believed they may take the season off in order to grab a top draft pick for when their squad was back at full health.
That’s not what happened at all. The Celtics are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference, and with rumors that Tatum could come back as early as February or March, they could be a surprise contender this season.

A few days ago, the Celtics faced off against another surprising contender, the San Antonio Spurs. The Celtics lost the game 100–95 in a close match down to the wire. However, the game ended on some controversial calls, which Celtics star Jaylen Brown didn’t appreciate.
"I'll accept the fine at this point. I thought it was some bull*** tonight. I think they're a good defensive team, but they ain't that damn good. I hope somebody can just pull up the clips, because it's the same s*** every time we play a good team. It's, like, they refuse to make a call, then they call touch fouls on the other end, and that's just extremely frustrating, bro… We play hard. We are outplaying our expectations. We compete hard on the defensive end, and they reward the other team with touch fouls. We go down there, and guys are allowed to get away with—somebody please pull it up. Every time we play a good team, the inconsistency is crazy. I'll take the f***ing fine. Curtis, all them dudes, was terrible tonight. I don't care, they can fine me whatever they want."
It takes a lot to get Brown to lose his cool. While complaining after the fact isn’t going to get the results changed, at least Brown wasn’t afraid to let his frustrations out.
