Anthony Davis' Agent Clears the Air About A Potential Trade Demand

The Anthony Davis trade rumors have been all over the place. At first, it sounded like the team and Davis were going to work together to find a deal for the star big man. Then there were reports that the team might prefer to keep him until this summer. There were even rumblings that Davis had demanded a trade in order to get out of Dallas.

That’s the thing about trade rumors: it’s impossible to know which ones to believe.

That’s why Davis’ agent, Rich Paul, recently went on his Game Over podcast and tried to clear the air.

“I know what was said. That thing was aggregated. This is the power of the internet. If you’re wondering why Rich Paul has a podcast, this is part of the reason why… The reality of it is, that’s fake news. When you have a player that’s on a team, it’s not like you want guys to move for the sake of being moved. If a guy is happy where they are, great. You care about people’s family, you care about the guys well-being, and you care if they’re happy. From a business perspective, you want guys to be paid. I really don’t care where the money comes from, the money can come from the 31st team in the NBA for all I care. As long as my guy is in position to get paid, that’s all I want to do… this idea that I don’t want a player somewhere, that’s not true.”

This will trigger a new set of Davis trade rumors. Agents aren’t necessarily known for telling the whole truth to the media, and this situation is no different. Until we see what the Mavericks end up doing with Davis, we can’t believe anything anyone says.
