Philadelphia 76ers Reportedly Open To Dealing Veteran Center
Jan 26, 2026
The Philadelphia 76ers have an emerging young core, and with former MVP Joel Embiid and veteran Paul George in the mix as well, this is a team that could have some success in 2025/26. With a record of 24-20, Philly now sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings, and with the trade deadline approaching, they're a team that could potentially be looking for some major upgrades.
While they've been quiet in trade rumors thus far, they could emerge as either a seller or a buyer ahead of the deadline, and with the East being wide open, they may believe they have a shot at a deep run in the NBA Playoffs. Now, a report from Keith Pompey has revealed that the team is officially open to moving veteran big man Andre Drummond, who has appeared in 35 of their 44 games this season, and has been with Philadelphia over the past two seasons.
In that time, Drummond has averaged 20 minutes a night, posting 8 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist per game, and while he plays a role for this team, with Adem Bona emerging as a backup, they seemingly believe that Drummond is now expendable moving forward.

At this point in time, it's unclear what rival teams would be looking to land Drummond given his limited skill set at the age of 32, but if there is interest out there, don't be shocked to see Philly bet on their young core and move the veteran big man.
