Toronto Raptors Have Expressed Interest In Two All-Star Big Men
Dec 17, 2025
The Toronto Raptors have put together quite an intriguing young core, and with so much talent at the guard and small forward positions, they're very optimistic about the future. In the present, however, many expected them to struggle, but on the back of a 16–11 start to the 2025/26 season, it appears as though they may have some belief in themselves as a genuine NBA Playoffs threat.
In a weakened Eastern Conference, many teams believe that they could be a threat, and as a result, the Raptors appear to be buyers. According to NBA reporter Jake Fischer, Toronto could go big game hunting at the trade deadline, with both Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis firmly in their sights.
“The business Toronto is ultimately willing to conduct before the February trade buzzer will likely come down to how good the 16-11 Raptors still are as that deadline draws closer. Toronto, though, has sent out some early signals that it hopes to upgrade its frontcourt. Sources with knowledge of the Raptors' thinking have identified them as a team with interest in Domantas Sabonis as well as Davis.”
This would make sense, especially given the logjam that's been created in their back court, as they have significant assets to offer Dallas or Sacramento in a potential trade. All of this is dependent on whether the Raptors can keep their start going over the next few months, and if they can, don't be shocked to see them looking to move a guard and some draft assets for a major upgrade in their front court.
