Warriors Suffer Another Disappointing Loss, Time to Shake Things Up?
Dec 15, 2025
The Golden State Warriors had their second disappointing loss in a row on Sunday night. In Stephen Curry’s second game back after missing the team’s previous five, the Warriors fell to the Portland Trailblazers 136–131. This was the Warriors’ third loss to the Blazers this season, and their second in a row since Curry came back into the lineup.
What made this loss hurt even more is that Curry went absolutely nuclear in the game. He had 48 points on 12-of-19 from three-point range in the game, yet the Warriors were still unable to beat the scrappy Blazers.

Part of the reason the Warriors lost was that almost nobody else stepped up to help Curry. The next highest scorer on the team was Jimmy Butler, who had 16 points on 3-of-11 shooting.
Draymond Green was also a huge disappointment in his first game back after missing the Warriors’ last three. While he had a fairly nice stat line of 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, he also had a game-high eight turnovers. Many of which were completely unforced.
Losses like this have to make the Warriors take a long, hard look in the mirror. The Blazers aren’t that good, and the Warriors finally had their entire roster healthy. Curry went off. These are the types of games the Warriors NEED to win.
Of course, everyone is expecting the Warriors to trade Jonathan Kuminga at the trade deadline, but do they need to consider even more drastic moves?
Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler seem to be showing their age more than Curry these days. They are the next highest paid players on the roster, and trading them could allow the Warriors to make a complete overhaul and try something new around Curry.
It would be bold and certainly risky, but do the Warriors have another choice? Right now, their three stars aren’t good enough to keep the team above .500. Meanwhile, Curry looks as good as ever. It may be time for drastic measures.
