DeAaron Fox Throws Shade At His Former Team Following Success In San Antonio

Last season, the Sacramento Kings made the surprise decision to move on from the face of their franchise, trading De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. While the team experienced some level of success with Fox, overall, the franchise is still struggling, as they pivoted away from him to build around a different veteran core.

Now, Fox gets to play with the likes of Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper, and it's safe to say that when he was asked to address his former team, he made it clear that he's much happier now.

“I don’t really have anything to say. It is what it is… The grass is greener on this side.”

Since departing, the Kings franchise has once again fallen apart, with the team deciding to build around veterans like Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Russell Westbrook, and to the surprise of nobody, that simply hasn't worked out thus far. In San Antonio, however, Fox got the chance to play for the NBA Cup on Tuesday night, and with this loaded roster, it's more likely than not that they'll secure a high seed in the upcoming NBA Playoffs as well.

Ultimately, it was likely the right move for the Kings to deal Fox when they did, and given that they haven't been able to capitalize on the pieces they got back in that deal, it shouldn't come as any surprise that he's much happier where he is now following his departure.
