Boston Celtics Owner Explains What Makes Celtics Fans The Best In The NBA

Over the history of the NBA, there haven't been many teams in professional sports that have eclipsed the success of the Boston Celtics. Since their arrival, they have won 18 NBA Championships, and given the sports-mad city that they play in, it's no surprise that they have one of the most dedicated fan bases in all of sports.

Owner Bill Chisholm is aware of that as well, as he has often expressed his gratitude for the support that fans have given the Celtics over the years. Now, he opens up on what makes them the best fans in the league, noting just how different the passion and dedication are compared to other fan bases in the NBA and sports in general.

“When the Warriors lose, [fans] go to the beach or do whatever… When the Celtics lose, people are depressed.”

The way he described these fans can be used to describe fans of many other teams, but given the success that Celtics fans are able to celebrate, it's much easier to be dedicated to the team year in and year out.

Celtics opponents know how passionate that fanbase is too, as they are often commenting on how hostile things can be in the TD Garden, and while that's not always a great thing, support like this is amazing for the home team. Ultimately, it's impossible to measure just which fan bases are the most dedicated, but when it comes to the NBA, it's hard to argue that the Celtics are among the very best.
