New York Knicks Crowned Third Ever NBA Cup Champions

Los Angeles Lakers. Milwaukee Bucks. New York Knicks.

Many questioned the idea of the NBA Cup when it was announced by Adam Silver, but after three seasons, we've seen three big teams led by superstars come away victorious. After the LeBron James-led Lakers and Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Bucks came away winners in the first two seasons, it was going to be either Jalen Brunson or Victor Wembanyama in season three.

The Spurs vs. Knicks matchup came with plenty of hype, and it was a highly competitive matchup in Las Vegas, with all the stars showing out. However, the game-changer in this one may have been backup guard Tyler Kolek for the Knicks, who stopped a major run from Wembanyama, handing New York all the momentum late in the game.

That was all the Knicks needed, as they would end up cruising to a 124–113 victory, claiming their first trophy in the NBA in decades, with Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby all playing starring roles in this game.

Unsurprisingly, the team and fans went hard on their celebrations, especially for those players down the Knicks' bench, with some of them getting triple their yearly salary for a victory in this one matchup.

After some amazing performances, Jalen Brunson was named MVP of this season's NBA Cup, and with the team hoping to do big things in the NBA Playoffs this season, they'll be hoping that this experience is something they can draw from when it matters most late in the 2025/26 season.
