NBA Reporter Reveals Three Top Teams Prepared To Acquire Darius Garland If He Becomes Available

Darius Garland has been a star for the Cleveland Cavaliers for the past few seasons, but when it has mattered most in the NBA Playoffs, he's either been injured or he's struggled to show up in the big moments. This season, the Cavaliers don't look anywhere near the dominant force that they did in 2024–25, and it's led to speculation that they could look to make a massive change.

That's not been confirmed by the team themselves, but rumors around the NBA have surrounded their star point guard, who could potentially be on the way out. If that ends up being the case, reporter Jake Weinbach has named three teams as potential landing spots for the former All-Star point guard.

Those three teams are the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and Washington Wizards, but if Garland truly is made available, it would make sense that many more teams would be interested in the 25-year-old. This season, he's appeared in just 11 games for Cleveland, but in that time, he's been solid once again, averaging 16 points and six assists.

For a few years, there has been some speculation over Garland and whether or not the backcourt pairing with Donovan Mitchell still works, with Spida being the main producer in that role. Ultimately, it's unlikely that Garland gets moved in the next few weeks, but if Cleveland can't find their groove and believes it needs to make a change, don't be shocked to see him as the top name moved.
