Ticket Prices Soar For Lakers Season Finale After LeBron James Teased A Major Announcement
Oct 6, 2025
Entering Year 23 of his NBA career, at this point, it's well known that LeBron James doesn't have much time remaining before his retirement arrives. Some have speculated that, as a free agent next summer, he could take a one-year deal somewhere or wind up finishing his career with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2025-26.
Now, LeBron has taken to social media to tease something about his future, as he posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “LeBron Announces: The Decision Part 2.”
That has unsurprisingly led to plenty of speculation about LeBron's future, and now that's led to a major increase in ticket prices. According to TickPick, the cheapest price for the Lakers' last home game this season has now surged from $80 to $445, with fans clearly expecting that to be the final regular-season game of his career.
It's unclear whether that is indeed what LeBron was hinting at, or whether he was looking at free agency to have one final run at 41, but clearly, fans are looking to cash in on the speculation.
If it is the end of James' career, he'll go down as one of, if not the, greatest players to ever play in the NBA, and much like Kobe Bryant's final game, if it is to be the end of his career, it's safe to say that it will be one of the most watched regular-season games in league history.
