Ja Morant Week-to-Week After Recent Injury At Practice
Oct 6, 2025
The Memphis Grizzlies have one of the most talented lineups in the NBA, and coming into the 2025-26 regular season, they're full of optimism. That is despite playing in the loaded Western Conference, with many people seeing at least nine teams as genuine threats for the NBA Championship out West this year.
Unfortunately for Memphis, those title hopes have already taken a major hit, as a recent report has revealed an injury to star point guard Ja Morant.
That report comes from the Grizzlies themselves: Morant suffered an ankle injury during a recent practice, the last thing Memphis needed heading into such a big season. According to the report, Morant is considered week-to-week, and with the regular season tipping off on October 22nd against the New Orleans Pelicans, there's a chance that Morant could be unavailable for that game.

This injury is the latest in a line of events that could keep Morant out of NBA games, as he has played in just 59 games over the past two seasons, and the 26-year-old has never played more than 67 games in a season in his career. At this point in time, there's been no clear timeline or clear revelation on what the ankle injury entails, but without Morant, that will force the team into starting Ty Jerome.
If Morant misses any significant time in 2025-26, it will be a major setback for the Grizzlies, so the team will be desperately hoping that he can be healthy for the regular season opener.
