Kyrie Irving Gives an Injury Update on When He Will Return From ACL Injury

The Dallas Mavericks could be a surprise team this season. While many believe that trading Luka Doncic may have been one of the dumbest moves in NBA history, the Mavericks have put together a strong squad and could be a surprise team in the Western Conference.

The Mavericks will be led by Anthony Davis, but their second-best player, Kyrie Irving, will miss a sizeable chunk of this season after tearing his ACL towards the end of last year. Now, the Mavericks will enter the season with the unknown of when, or if, Kyrie will return from injury.

Kyrie Irving gave an injury update on his Twitch stream, giving fans some insight into when he could return this season.

“There’s no timetable for when I’m coming back, so please don’t ask me when I’m coming back. Please don’t badger me with all the questions like, ‘Hey, if you’re healthy by November, what do you think about it?’ Please don’t badger me with any questions, guys. I’m going to be ready when I’m ready. I’m taking the necessary steps to put my best foot forward—and I’m enjoying it. This is not possible without the tribe that I’ve grown up around. And I’m always going to make sure I pay my respect and show love to the tribe that’s grown with me since I was a kid.”

It looks like Kyrie himself doesn’t know when or if he will return from injury this year. Maybe it will depend on how well the Mavericks are playing, or maybe it will just be whether he feels like returning this season won’t put him at risk for further injury. Regardless, it looks like we will have to wait to find out.
